Gold Digger by Gillian Godden – Spotlight
A spotlight post for Gillian Godden’s newest gang thriller Gold Digger.
Tessa Buckley’s newest novel, Haunted, is a delightful mystery for middle-grade students. This book is the second in the Eye Spy series. Tessa’s story had me all in a dither. I kept guessing who the culprit was yet didn’t figure it out until close to the end. My hunches failed me with this one.
The second book of the Ray Logue series, Nine Lives, is a crime reader’s dream. Kevin McManus offers an excellent follow-up to Death Rains Down. If anything, this novel is even better. I will never figure out how McManus fits so much adrenaline-filled magic in such a short volume.
Catherine Tinley made me laugh, cry, and seethe with her new novel Captivating the Cynical Earl. This book is another Harlequin Historical novel that stole my heart, one where I found a home. This volume is one of many in a series. After reading this, I know I must read the rest before my brain will rest.
I adore Harlequin Historical novels. They never disappoint. The Housekeeper of Thornhallow Hall by Lotte James is the latest in their lineup. This novel was everything I could have wanted in a historical romance. Lotte James wrote a heartwarming tale.
The Best Man is a fine tale of long-burning love. A.S. Kelly wraps the reader in soft affection with some laughs along the way. When you throw in a witty grandpa and an adorable kid in the mix, you have yourself a mighty good story.
Peta Rainford takes children on a field trip to an ocean rockpool in her new novel, Crab, Dab & Blenny. These three citizens of the sea take us on a journey to show how ugly the ocean becomes when overrun with plastics.
Grayson Avery’s second foray into the Sweet Water Circle, with Jenn Reinvented, took me to new depths of feeling. The friends gathered and tried to set up a new direction for their wayward buddy. But, even with their humor and grace, I had a hard time with my emotions for this round.
