Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme I found over at BermudaOnion’s blog. This meme shares new words that I’ve encountered or spotlight words I enjoy.  Feel free to get creative!

I completely missed last week, but I’m back with a great new word this week. This is a problem that runs rampant in my mind. Case in point, I am meant to be reading today, yet I am spending all my time woolgathering on Pinterest. Can you guess the meaning of today’s word?

Wondrous Word

Definition: Procrastination

I found this word while browsing Pinterest. Surprised? This is a French word that was first used in 1774, according to the Collins Roberts French to English Dictionary.

I’m sure my dear friend Ellie will know this word as she is from France, but I’d never heard it before, and thought it sounded so pretty when spoken. I had to include it.

Have you heard this word before?

  1. I’ve never heard this word before. I’d go look it up but I suffer from severe Atermoiements. 🙂

    1. Hahaha!! Me too! I had to look it up in a French to English dictionary to get it. It isn’t listed in any of the regular dictionaries I use. But, it is still a great word!
