Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme I found over at BermudaOnion’s blog. This meme shares new words that you’ve encountered or spotlight words you love.  Feel free to get creative!

Last week I shared a fun word about making piles of stuff. This week I found a word that describes my book buying or borrowing obsession.

Wondrous Word

Definition: Not sensible about practical matters. Can also refer to being overly romantic or chivalrous.

I found this word on the Vocabulary.com blog. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary this word was first seen in 1718 and is based on literary figure Don Quixote and has been used to describe unrealistic idealists since then.

Do you have any quixotic tendencies?
