Merry Christmas (almost) Bookish People!

I wanted to do some more fun posts here on the blog and Ellie from Read to Ramble has kindly tagged me to join in on the 12 Days of Christmas Book Tag. I am so excited to participate! However, be warned. I am not as well read as my blog buddies.

Danni from For Books Sake tagged Ellie, and you can check out her post here. Danni found this tag on The Book Dutchesses blog and it was originally created by Lizzie Loves Books, so go check these two blogs out too!

Now, time for the tag!!

ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE.

The partridge stood alone in the pear tree. What is your favourite stand alone?

I love a good romance and regency romance is my absolute favorite. Gentleman Jim ticked all of the boxes for a great romance for me, and strangely enough, this romance is not part of a series.

ON THE SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: TWO TURTLE DOVES.

Love is in the air! Who is your one true pairing?

This is the easiest question on here. Elinor Dashwood and Edward Ferrars from Sense and Sensibility are my all time favorite couple.

ON THE THIRD DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: THREE FRENCH HENS.

In the spirit of threes, what is the best trilogy you have read?

I adore the Hunger Games trilogy, even though it has a prequel, I am still calling it a trilogy. These books are some of my favorites and I reread them often.

ON THE FOURTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: FOUR CALLING BIRDS.

Since series usually consist of four or more books, what is your favourite series?

While I vehemently disagree with J.K. Rowling’s views on transgender society, I will always love the magic that brought me back to life when I was near the end. It is the world that I love so much and it will always be my favorite.

ON THE FIFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: FIVE GOLDEN RINGS.

One ring to rule them all! Who is your favourite Villain/Antagonist?

Agatha Trunchbull is my favorite villain. There are so many good villains, but Trunchbull scared the crap out of my kids and that makes a great villain.

ON THE SIXTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: SIX GEESE A LAYING.

Creation is a beautiful thing. What is your favourite world/world-building?

This is, of course, Harry Potter’s wizarding world again. But, this year I found another great world that I would like to visit in The Beast and the Bethany.

ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: SEVEN SWANS A SWIMMING.

Who needs seven swans when all it takes is one good animal sidekick? Who’s your favourite animal sidekick?

Falcor, the Luck Dragon, is my favorite animal sidekick. He is so wise and who wouldn’t want to ride a Luck Dragon?

ON THE EIGHTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: EIGHT MAIDS A MILKING.

Milk is so 18th century. Which book or series takes beverages/food to a whole new level?

This cozy mystery series is fantastic! The series is based on a catering company and the food that the narrator describes makes my mouth water through the whole book.

ON THE NINTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: NINE LADIES DANCING.

Dancing is just one skill of a Lady! Who is your favourite kickass female lead?

My first choice would be Katniss from The Hunger Games, but for the sake of something different, I’m going with Jack Valentine from the Seeker series. She takes no crap and looks like a mess but gives 0 F’s about it.

ON THE TENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: TEN LORDS A LEAPING.

How about your favourite leading lad?

John Coffey is one of my favorite characters ever, so it makes sense that he would show up as my favorite leading lad. His magic was original yet tragic and you can’t help but feel for him.

ON THE ELEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: ELEVEN PIPES PIPING.

What is your favourite book or bookish thing with musical influence? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)

I am not completely finished with this one yet, but the main character is incredibly musical. She can play any instrument put in front of her. Today she was playing the cello. I can’t see what she picks up next.

ON THE TWELFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: 12 DRUMMERS DRUMMING.

Drum roll please…what is your favourite read of this year?

Again, I haven’t finished this one yet but I already know that it is going to be my favorite of the year. It is so deliciously good!

I’m not going to tag anyone because I think everyone I know has already been tagged but if you are reading and want to do this tag, please link back so I can read your answers.
