The Art of Sherlock Holmes is the most interesting Sherlockian lore I have found so far. Though, I must admit that I am new to the Holmes world. However, this book is my favorite, as it combines my love of art with my growing love of Sherlock Holmes’ adventures.

My Review of The Art of Sherlock Holmes – USA Edition 1
I have enjoyed the short stories. I love matching up the artwork to the words in each story. The variety of stories in this book leaves you satisfied and full of wonder. I loved each one of the stories, but I must say that my favorite of the stories is The Adventure of the Pharaoh’s Tablet. I honestly thought that Holmes had met his match, but that idea was absurd. Of course, Sherlock would find the truth.
As for the artwork, I loved that as well. Each piece of art is gorgeous and tells a beautiful story of its own. My favorite art piece is from the first story in the book, The Vampire of the Lyceum. The piece has a Picasso-esque quality that I find fascinating. I admit to being a bit biased, though, because Picasso is my favorite artist. All the pieces are amazing, and I will also confirm that I spent more time looking at the artwork and trying to find each little bit of the story in them.
I award The Art of Sherlock – USA Edition 5 out of 5 stars. Anyone with a love of Sherlock Holmes will fall in love with this collection of short stories.

The Art of Sherlock Holmes – Info
The Art of Sherlock Holmes-USA Edition 1 is truly unique. While there have been literally hundreds of Holmes pastiches written before our first volume, The Art of Sherlock Homes-West Palm Beach, there had never been a volume where Holmes short stories were interpreted by such accomplished artists.
In this first USA edition, thirteen world-class artists who live and create in the United States have each had a story assigned to them – specifically dependent on the particular talent of each artist. Whether the interpretations be from the forms of surrealist, contemporary, realist, digital, minimalist, symbolism, or an amalgam of various forms, each piece of art created is unique, hypnotic, mesmerizing and unforgettable. Each created specifically to express the essence of each incredible Holmes story.
The thirteen stories herein range from the impossibly baffling (except for Holmes) to the humorous, paranormal, or simply intellectually intricate. You’re presented with murder, theft, treason, betrayal, love, loss and greed. All the ingredients to make delicious Holmes meals of mystery. But please remember, art is in the eye of the beholder. So we hope you’ll appreciate each creation for what it is: an inimitable interpretation of a truly unique Holmes story.
For those of you who get lost in abstract art, our abstract artists have provided an explanation of what their art means in relation to the story they’ve interpreted.
The Art of Sherlock Holmes books are curated by Phil Growick, himself a renowned Holmes author.
