Publication Date: July 2016

Genre: High Fantasy

Sapphira is a desert world with little plant life, where the people live in the shadows of gray sunlight, sickened by the Dark Plague. To cure the people, the Guardian of Dreams sends the Spirit of Truth to bring the light back into his darkened world. In the form of Pegasus, he enters the world through the pure, innocent dreams of Selene, the reluctant princess and heir-apparent to the throne. Now, with her brother Dorian as king, another rebellion is stirring. All eyes are turning to Selene to bring peace through an arranged marriage. However, Selene only has eyes for her true love—her protector, Etoileon. As the rebellion unleashes its fury upon the kingdom of Sapphira and the supernatural forces collide, Selene is caught in the middle of all conflicts—the battle for her world, the battle for her love, and the battle for her very soul.

My Review of The Moonlight Pegasus:

The Moonlight Pegasus is a sweet fantasy tale. The author C.S. Johnson weaves a story of intrigue, true love, and the power of dreams in this enchanting tome.

The Moonlight Pegasus is a delightful story that can stand the test of time. The setting is gorgeous with the gray sunlight and the lush gardens of Diamond City. With the Palace sitting on the Table high above the city atop a magnificent waterfall.

My senses were tingling just thinking of the landscape.

There are characters to love and characters you will love to hate. It was fun getting to know everyone, good and bad. The shy love between Selene and Etoileon is brilliant in its abundance. Dorian’s love for his sister is a relationship like no other I have seen. He cares for her profoundly and protects her at all costs. Though he does have a soft spot for her and gives her almost everything, she desires.

Unfortunately, this book could have a bit more editing. There are missing words at times and too many words at others. I will admit that it was difficult to read and had the tendency to slog through many parts.

As such, I award The Moonlight Pegasus 3 out of 5 stars. I do believe that fans of fantasy will love this tale. It is an excellent story with much to love.
